  • 1916

    ARTURO SIMON CREATES THE COMPANY IN OLOT

    Arturo Simon begins to manufacture bulb mounts in a small workshop after the Great War caused a shortage of this product.

  • 1925

    ARTURO SIMON EXPANDS THE RANGE OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT

    Arturo Simon starts making outlets and switches, which significantly increases the company´s productivity. A factory on the ground floor and housing on the first floor is built.

  • 1936

    THE CIVIL WAR HALTS INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITY

    Industrial activities are temporarily halted during the Civil War and all industries are collectivised to produce weapons. Arturo Simon´s factory is no exception and is forced to switch to making copper and lead bullets.

  • 1942

    THE PORCELAIN FACTORY OPENS

    A lack of porcelain during World War II leads Arturo Simon to open his own porcelain factory to manufacture his own supply.

  • 1950

    A NEW SIMON FACTORY IS INAUGURATED IN OLOT

    At this stage, Simon switches from manufacturing small electrical equipment for hardware stores to manufacturing materials for new construction projects.

  • 1957

    SIMON BUYS PME

    The purchase of PME (Pequeno Material Electrico) is a turning point. The company moves to Barcelona and opens its Sancho, Tanger and Sant Andreu factories.

  • 1960

    LAUNCH OF SCHUKO

    Simon makes a signifi cant contribution to security after introducing the German technology called Schuko to Spain.

  • 1966

    SIMON BUYS IEP

    Buying IEP (Industrias Electricas Puig), one of Spain´s fi rst lighting companies, is a clear commitment to growing Simon´s lighting business.

  • 1975

    A NEW MANUFACTURING CENTRE OPENS IN GIRONA

    This factory is the company´s most important assembly centre. Simon also launches the electronic dimmer, a massive contribution to domestic energy savings, at the same time.

  • 1988

    THE WAREHOUSE IN CANOVELLES OPENS

    Construction of a large, fully automated central warehouse in Canovelles that won a FAD architecture prize.

  • 1992

    FIRST EXTERNAL COLLABORATION

    To coincide with the Olympics, architect Cristian Cirici designed Simon´s 27 (rippled version) and 28 Series.

  • 1993

    LAUNCH OF THE FIRST HOME AUTOMATION SYSTEM

    Simon is a pioneer in Intelligent Control for room safety and comfort management.

  • 1998

    SIMON BEGINS TO INTERNATIONALISE

    The company´s new strategy is to target young markets in emerging countries with a high potential for growth in construction; these strategic regions are Mexico, Brazil, North Africa, Russia, India and China. At the same time the company opens a new factory in Olot, designed by the architect Lluis Clotet and nominated for the FAD architecture awards. The opening coincides with the launch of Simon Vox, the company´s second home automation system, a product with multiple applications that is both easy and e_ cient to use.

  • 1999

    SIMON ENTERS THE CHINESE MARKET

    The company searches for a local partner and opens a production plant in the province of Hayan. Simon´s strategy in China is to meet the market´s specifi c needs.

  • 2002

    THE SIMON SPAIN HOLDING COMPANY INCORPORATES SEVERAL COMPANIES

    The Simon Groups incorporates a number of new companies in the first decade of the century. Simon ELECTRICA is established in Mexico for manufacturing and sales. The internationalisation process continues. First investment in Eastern Europe, Simon Russia.

  • 2006

    THE SIMON GROUP ENTERS THE INDIAN MARKET

    Simon Indoasian is created for manufacturing electrical equipment in India.

  • 2007

    Started Operations in India
    SIMON IS SELECTED AS AN OFFICIAL SUPPLIER OF THE 2008 OLYMPIC GAMES IN BEIJING.
  • 2008

    NEW HEADQUARTERS BUILT IN BARCELONA

    Designed by architects Clotet and Paricio, the building was nominated for the FAD awards.

  • 2009

    SIMON OPENS SIMHOME STORES IN CHINA

    Simon opens 81 stores dedicated to the exclusive sale of lighting products and small electrical equipment.

  • 2010

    NEW BUSINESS LINES OF LED INTERIOR LIGHTING

    NEW PLUG & DRIVE BUSINESS LINE

    Solutions for charging electric vehicles.

  • 2013

    FLUVIA IS CREATED

    Simon creates Fluvia, a brand of indoor lighting with LED technology. The fi rst year received a 2013 Silver Delta for its SLIM range.

  • 2014

    INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

    Simon receives five international rewards for its FLUVIA Slim and Cool ranges.

    SIMON INDIA COLLABORATES WITH V-GUARD ​

    Simon India joins hands with the trusted Indian brand V-Guard under a strategic partnership between the two brands where V-Guard would be serving as Simon’s exclusive brand licensee and technology partner for Simon Switches in India.​​
